When You Can’t Get Together, Ghoul-Together

So seriously… it was NOT supposed to be a party, but somehow Halloween threw up in my house. Eh well, let the festivities begin.

Aria and Satiah are 2 and 9-months, respectively so I wanted to make this Halloween special for them (and let’s keep it real, for me too). So in these COVID times, I wanted to make sure we did something memorable and safe. Cue the two-year-old, “Mommy I want to go to the park with Mari and Majr and Clara.” My interpretation of that very clear, non-garbled, toddler sentence: Let’s have a get-together – not a party. 😏 Ya’ll, I’m throwing a two-year-old Halloween party. Well let’s see, 7 two-year-olds, 2 three-year-olds, 1 four-year-old, 2 nine-month-olds, and 1 seven-month-old. What just happened?

Let me tell you what I did.

First they have to have something to do, so I created activity and game stations. Activity stations… for toddlers… you say – dang straight. All geniuses. Lol. My 2-year old is almost smarter than me. Almost.

So in the way of activities there’s:

  • Cookie decorating
  • Coloring
  • Foam Ghost and pumpkin decorating
  • Pumpkin carving (with parental help and supervision of course – no way am I giving littles super sharp objects)

And in the way of games we have:

  • Mummy bowling
  • Pin the head on the skeleton
  • Witche’s hat ring toss
  • Pumpkin bean bag toss
  • And a scary sensory feeling cauldron. (Ooooooh yucky!)

For snacks I went for:

  • Mummy pizzas (check the how-to to make your own)
  • Mummy juice boxes (this is simple too!)
  • Pretzel snacks
  • Skeleton snacks
  • Spider cookies
  • Graveyard dirt
  • And nachos for the adults (we gotta eat too)

And as you already know, my decor was lit! Tee hee … 🤷🏽‍♀️ And as a not-so-practical parent, you should understand that this is how I roll and how it morphed from the tykes just getting together to play into … well… this:

But gosh darn it they had a great time. And I’m exhausted. Let me know how you’re celebrating safely. And how you like my Ghoul-Together (insert sinister laugh and music here.)

And in case you were wondering – my costume was Tiny Diamond from Trolls World Tour.
